Bro, it’s 4:17 already and I’m lying on the bed typing with one hand… the other one has already fallen asleep 😂 Bro, honestly from the heart, BISP is so huge in Pakistan that if we had something like this in India, my aunt would be rich today deadass. I still remember the time when she used to get only 2000-3000 from some scheme and would cry saying “son, how will I pay the electricity bill”… even today it makes me angry man 🤦♂️
What Exactly Is BISP?
Okay, let’s start from the beginning… what is BISP, bro? Basically it’s Pakistan’s biggest poverty-alleviation program that started in 2008… named after Benazir Bhutto… in her memory. They give direct cash to poor families… and that too straight into women’s hands… because you know men would blow half of it on booze lmao for real for real. This part wins my heart every single time 🔥
At first it was just cash transfer… now it’s a full system: Kafaalat, Nashonuma, Taleem, Waseela-e-Sehat… meaning cash + children’s education + health + nutrition, everything. Basically one program gives the complete package to poor people… ngl sometimes I lowkey feel jealous.

Eligibility Criteria
Listen up… you have to be Pakistani, have a CNIC, and your poverty score has to be low… meaning no bike in the house, no fridge, no government job in the family… if you have all that, sorry bro, disqualified 😂
They use a poverty scorecard system… people come to your house for survey… ask “how many rooms, how much electricity bill, how many kids, any land or not”… everything goes in and they give a score. 0-16 = jackpot… 17-25 borderline… above that just forget it. My aunt got 12… she was crying with happiness when she found out 😂😭
How to Register (3 Ways)
Three ways, bro:
- Online – Go to bisp.gov.pk… enter CNIC, fill form, upload documents… done.
- Visit Center – Go to tehsil office or BISP registration center, stand in line, do biometric… that’s it.
- Mobile Units – Sometimes registration vans come… get it done there too.
Documents: just CNIC, children’s B-form, electricity bill, income proof (meaning proof of zero income 😂)… take all this… survey happens in 2-4 weeks… then approval… then card is made… then money starts 🔥
How Much Money Do You Get?
In 2025 under Kafaalat it’s 10,500 or 12,000 quarterly or something like that now… earlier it was 7,000. Inflation screwed everyone so they increased it… and it comes only in the woman’s name… meaning the card is in aunty’s name… she goes and withdraws with biometric from ATM or shop. Earlier it was from post office standing in line… now it’s easy.
Other Programs Under BISP
- Nashonuma → extra money + nutrition stuff for pregnant women and kids under 2 years
- Waseela-e-Taleem → extra 1000-2000 per child if they go to school
- Waseela-e-Sehat → health insurance type thing
Meaning it’s not just food… they’re trying to set up the whole life, bro… respect from the heart to whoever runs this 🔥
Online Portal & Tracking
There’s an online portal now… create account with CNIC… there you can check when payment came, how much, when next one is coming… status also shows. I made the account for my aunt myself… now she checks on her own… earlier she used to call me every month 😂
Problems That Still Exist
Problems are there, bro… some people say survey people take money to change score… or local politicians put their friends in… this stuff happens… but biometric has stopped most fraud now. Earlier people used others’ cards… not anymore.
Real Impact
So many studies… they say school enrollment has increased… kids’ weight has improved… when women get money, they are listened to more at home… meaning a little empowerment is also happening… these small things feel huge when you see them from the heart 😭
Future & Final Thoughts
If this program runs consistently for 10-15 years, Pakistan’s next generation will be properly educated and healthy… the cycle of poverty will break… but if the next government shuts it down for politics, everything will be ruined… that’s the fear always.
All I’ll say is… if you’re genuinely poor, single mom, widow, have disabled kids, or any real need… just apply, bro. First send CNIC to 8171 to check if you’re eligible… don’t stress… maybe life becomes a little easier. Sitting here in Delhi I pray every day that aunts like my khala keep getting this support 💤😭
Now I’m really going to sleep… eyes closing… phone about to fall… tomorrow morning I’ll read this and curse myself for writing so much but whatever… if it helps someone, it’s worth it. Goodnight bro peace out 🗿🔥
